Off-Campus Database Access | Access to E-books at NetLibrary

The RPCC Library Catalog, Databases, and E-Book collections can all be accessed from off campus locations through the Library's homepage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Off-Campus Database Access

To access the RPCC databases, you must use your student User ID, which is a 12-digit number comprised of your 9-digit social security number, followed by a three digit code ('100' for students and '200' for faculty).

Your PIN is the last four digits of your social security number.

Example:  A student, John, has a social security number of 987654321.  Therefore, John's User ID is 987654321100 and his PIN is 4321.

User
User ID

Student   SSN + 100   Last 4 SSN digits
  Example: Student   987654321100   4321
  Faculty/Staff   SSN + 200   Last 4 SSN digits
  Example: Faculty/Staff   123456789200   6789

Also, remember to change the institution to RPCC and click to authenticate.

netLibrary E-book Access

If you already have a netLibrary account, click here: netLibrary

You must first create a NetLibrary E-book account while on campus before you can access E-books remotely. After you have created your account, use your user name and password to access NetLibrary E-books by clicking here.

TO ACCESS NETLIBRARY FOR THE FIRST TIME, FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS:

If you are on campus now:

From the RPCC campus, you may create your account yourself by clicking here.    Be certain to use your 9-digit student ID number as your username. Your password must be at least six (6) characters long.

If you are off campus now:

If you do NOT have a NetLibrary account and you are off-campus, you may have one of our librarians create an account for you by emailing the Library.

If you try creating a NetLibrary account yourself from off-campus, you will only have access to NetLibrary's free e-books. Signing up from on campus or with the help of a librarian will allow you access to approximately 55,000 e-books owned by RPCC in addition to the almost 4,000 free e-books.

Email the following information to lrc@rpcc.edu with "RPCC netLibrary Account" as the Subject:

  • User ID: (preferably your 12-digit RPCC Library User ID (see above))
  • Password: (your password must be at least six alpha-numeric characters in length)
  • Your Full Name: (the name you use at RPCC as a student)
  • Your Email Address: (where we can contact you to let you know your account was created)

A librarian will contact you via email when your account has been set up.
