  • Biography Resource Center - Provides biographies, magazine articles, images, and website links for more than 900,000 people; searchable by name, occupation, etc.
  • CQ Researcher - Provides in-depth, non-biased articles on topics and issues in the news. Includes archives back to 1923 and a bibliography of sources.

ONLINE RESOURCES:

  • Best of History Websites, is a portal that includes annotated links to over 1000 history web sites. Sites are rated and the portal offers an easy-to-use interface.
  • Country Studies, from the Federal Research Division, Library of Congress, offers historical, social, political, economic information on countries around the world.
  • History.Com, from The History Channel, this site offers video and audio clips, images, and more.
  • infoplease: World History, offers a text-based timeline of world history, with links to articles, descriptions and definitions.
  • Library of Congress, offers access to numerous online collections of primary documents as well as other resources.
  • LOUISiana Digital Library, an online collection of over 144,000 digitized materials from archives, libraries, museums, and other institutions from around the state.
  • The National Archives and Records Administration, is the repository for the nation's records. Digital images and transcripts of "100 Milestone Documents" are available for viewing online.
  • National Geographic: Archaeology, a section of the National Geographic website, includes videos (including many full episodes), images, news, and interactives.
  • PBS: History for documentaries on events in history ranging from topics of local interest to global events.
  • Smithsonian, the website if the Smithsonian Institution, offers a rich collection of resources and information.
  • World History Matters, is a portal developed by the Center for History and New Media, at George Mason University leading users to numerous online history resources; the portal offers in-depth reviews of the sites listed as well as help using different resources to conduct research.
