General Reference
  • Oxford Reference Online - Provides full-text access to many subject dictionaries and encyclopedias, maps, timelines, and more. Includes bilingual dictionaries. Uses a unique login; see RPCC Library Services under RPCC Support in Moodle, or stop by the Library for more information.

  • French Business Source (Vente et Gestion) - Provides full-text coverage of French language business journals for academic and professional researchers.
  • World Book L’Encyclopédie Découverte - French language version of World Book Online that includes a French visual dictionary that displays labels in French and English. Uses a unique login; see RPCC Library Services under RPCC Support in Moodle, or stop by the Library for more information.
Spanish
  • Economia y Negocios - Provides indexing to more than 300 Spanish language business and economics periodicals published in Latin America and Spain.
  • Fuente Academica - Provides full-text access to multi-discipline Spanish language academic scholarly journals covering many academic areas of interest.
  • MedicLatina - Provides full-text articles from nearly 100 Spanish language medical journals published in Latin America.

Dictionaries / Translation
  • Babel Fish, from Yahoo, translates words, blocks of text, or websites. Will also offer to search the web using your term.
  • Dictionarist, this Online Talking Dictionary offers translations of words from English into numerous other languages and from other languages to English. It will pronounce the word that is searched, but not the results. It also offers a keyboard interface to accommodate 11 languages, including French and Spanish. Preferences for only certain language glossaries can also be selected.
  • Look WAY Up this free version offers French-to-English or English-to-French translations and corrects for spelling and accents! Other languages are also available. There is a full version available for purchase.
  • SpanishDict, this source offers word and sentence translations as well as other options to learn and study Spanish with videos, flashcards, a chat forum, games, and more. Sign-up is required to use the instructional resources, but the account is FREE!
Grammar / Study Help
  • Learn a Language, a FREE comprehensive guide to learning eight foreign languages including French & Spanish. Includes resources on grammar, common phrases, alphabet, cultural information, and more.
  • Learn Spanish, from StudySpanish.com offers free tutorials.
  • Tres Bien French, includes flash cards, exercises, games, conjugation charts, and more. Users can also choose skill levels. Other languages are also available - just scroll down.
